The Alabama Department of Public Health administers the practice of permanent makeup and body art.
Must observe and comply with the Standard precautions for the prevention of transmission of :
- Bloodborne pathogens (specifically; the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus(HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV).
- Hand washing, gloving, personal protective equipment, injury prevention, proper handling and disposal of needles, other sharp instruments, blood and body fluid-contaminated products.
- Biohazard waste shall be disposed in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Hepatitis B vaccination
